About
I submitted my thesis in July and waiting for my viva. I am seeking employment, in a variety of areas, gaming, academia, geronotology, technologies and interaction.
During my research I became aware of the field of gerontology which is an interest of mine especially from a technology perspective. I feel there is plenty of scope for the future in bringing the two fields together.
I graduated from Teesside University, Middlesbrough 2003 BSc(Hons) degree in Multimedia followed by a MSc in Computing (2004). In 2005 I was employed as a research assistant for 18 months investigating current trends (if any) in older adults and computer games, which transformed into my PhD.
I am a member of several ageing/gaming societies including the student arms which include the following:
ERA student group (Emerging Researchers in Ageing) the student arm of the BSG (British Society of Gerontology)
ESPO (Emerging Scholar & Professional Organisation) the student arm of the GSA (Gerontological Society of America). DIGRA (Digital Games Research Association) and ISG (International Society of Gerontechnology).
I am Chair Elect of Technology GSA/ESPO (November 2009) and the Junior Representative of the Membership Committee.
